Terms of use

Plain language, no surprises. Last updated 8 November 2026.

Who runs this

Skanzu is an independent project operated from Bulgaria, in the EU. These terms cover the accounts at app.skanzu.com and the codes that resolve on https://go.skanzu.com.

What you get

A free account includes 3 dynamic codes. A code never changes, and neither does its printed QR; only the destination does. The free tier does not expire. Paid plans are not on sale yet — if you need more codes before they are, write to abuse@skanzu.com and we will tell you when they are available.

Your account

What a code may not be used for

A code is a door. Do not point it at content that is unlawful in the EU or in the country of the person scanning, and in particular not at:

Do not point a code at another shortener or at a Skanzu host, and do not scan your own codes in a loop — the number is meant to be people.

Removing a code

We may block a destination or remove a code that breaks these terms, and a removed code stops resolving for everyone who scans it. This is the one place the "codes keep working" promise gives way: it protects the people scanning, and the domain every other customer prints on. Where it is reasonable, we will say what happened and why.

Reporting abuse

Send the code (for example https://go.skanzu.com/abc12) and what you saw to abuse@skanzu.com. A person reads these, usually the same day. If a scan is already in progress, close the tab — we cannot see what the destination does, because visits are not logged.

Free means best effort

The service is provided as it is, without a warranty and without an availability guarantee. We may change features, and we may stop the service with reasonable notice; if we do, we will try to give you time to move. Analytics are aggregates only and can be incomplete — the privacy page says exactly what is and is not stored.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost business or lost data arising from use of the service. Nothing here limits the rights you have as a consumer under EU law.

Changes to these terms

If these terms change in a way that matters, the date above changes and the dashboard points it out. Continuing to use the service after that means the new terms apply.
